Chennai, May 10: In a novel way of brand promotion, a 800 kg "kadai" (frying pan), claimed to be the world's largest, was today cleaned with "Vim", the popular dishwash brand from Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL), marking the 100th anniversary celebrations of the brand in the Indian market here this evening. The event was organised in the presence of the representatives of the Limca book of world records who told the media that the Kadai was ten times bigger in terms of capacity than the world's largest frying pan in various world record books at present. The Kadai is 11.5 ft in diameter with a height of 3.3 ft and eight mm thickness. "Payasam", a typical south Indian desert was cooked in the vessel and served to over 6000 guests before it was thoroughly cleaned by using vim bar with the accompaniment of a star studded musical extravagenza at the wesley school grounds in the city. Speaking on the occasion Surabhi Agarwal, brand manager of Vim brand, said the brand was launched in India way back in 1903 as a washing powder and in 1993 the vim bar was introduced.
