Chennai, June 24: Justice S Thangaraj, retired judge of the Madras High Court, has been appointed as member of the Tamil Badu State Human Rights Commission.

of the Madras High Court, has been appointed as member of the
Tamil Badu State Human Rights Commission.
Governor P S Ramamohan Rao today appointed him to the
post on the recommendations of a select committee, comprising
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, leader of the opposition K
Anbazhagan and assembly Speaker K Kalimuthu, an official press release said.
The rare meeting between Jayalalithaa and Anbazhagan, MK
General Secretary, to discuss the appointment here yesterday
had triggered speculation in political circles but DMK sources
insisted that there was no political significance attached to
the meeting.
