New Delhi, May 07: RJD leader Laloo Prasad Yadav today sought an appointment with the Election Commission to lodge his complaints about certain malpractices during the Lok Sabha polling in Bihar. Party sources said Yadav has sought appointment with the commission tomorrow.
The former Bihar chief minister reached the national capital in the evening and drove straight to Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency to campaign in favour of Congress candidate Kapil Sibal who is pitted against BJP's Smriti Irani.
Yadav is expected to visit some parts of western Uttar Pradesh tomorrow and campaign for the secular alliance parties in certain constituencies going to polls on May 10, the sources said.
The RJD president is clashing against senior JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav in madhepura and Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy in Chhapra in Bihar.
Yadav, who has accused BSF personnel of committing serious irregularities during polling in Madhepura, had said in Patna yesterday that he would place before the EC the CDs in support of his contention.
The RJD leader's proposed meeting with the commission comes in the backdrop of a spate of complaints lodged by BJP regarding largescale rigging and violence in Chhapra and demand for countermanding the polls.
