New York, Oct 16: New York Stock Exchange listed mutual fund, the India Fund, Inc's net assets rose by about 24 per cent to 424.88 million dollars during the first nine months ended September 2003. Announcing the audited result, the fund, which seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity securities of Indian companies, had net assets of 343.8 million dollars in January-September 2002.
The company also said its net gains from investments were 141.2 million dollars and net investment income was 4.4 million dollars in the first nine months ended September 2003. Bureau Report
