Mumbai, Feb 02: The woes of Dabhol Power Company seem to be never ending as its engineers, GE and Bechtel, have decided to stick to their earlier proposal of charging $200,000 for conducting a 10 day on-site analysis of the incomplete and idle 2,184 MW power project in coastal Maharashtra. "There is no change in GE and Bechtel's proposal. They are going to demand a flat fee of $200,000 for their $200 million equity in DPC,” FI sources said on Sunday.

Representatives of GE, Bechtel and the US government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation are scheduled to meet officials of Union Power and Finance ministries from Monday in New Delhi to arrive at a solution for restarting the power project, which has been lying idle for the last 20 months.
GE India president and Chief Executive Officer Scott Bayman is to seek a settlement of their pending dues worth at least $120 million and also an "agreement in principle" with respect to the 10 per cent each equity in DPC. Bureau Report
