Phagwara, June 25: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today said that he had written to the Centre for granting extension to Chief Secretary Rajan Kashyap who is retiring on July 31. Singh, while talking to reporters here, claimed that the government was in the process of implementing power sector reforms and Kashyap was also secretary of power reforms panel, hence, to maintain 'continuity', he should be granted extension.
He brushed aside a suggestion that he had climbed down on the issue of arresting Shiromani Akali Dal Parkash Singh Badal.
