Patna, Sept 03: RJD supremo Laloo Yadav's family is basking in glory once again as another son of the Bihar's first couple finds himself on the state's cricket firmament.
Barely three days after Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, the younger
son of Yadav, received 'Khel Kirti Samman', his elder sibling
Tej Pratap was appointed captain of the state's under-14 team
to participate in the School Games Federation of India's
cricket tournament.
Tej Pratap, a student of the local international school was selected for the under-14 team from among 100 candidates who appeared for state-level trials at the Moinul Haq stadium, the results of which were announced last Monday.
Tej Pratap was chosen to lead the under-14 team on the basis of his performance at the open trials.
"There was no political pressure, nothing of the sort," insisted Ajay Narain Sharma, secretary of the Laloo-led Bihar Cricket Association and chairman of the selection committee.
Tej Pratap's 12-year-old sibling Tejaswi, a budding school cricketer, had on August 29 shared the Khel Kirti Samman, the topmost sports honour of the state, with Krishna Kumar Sharma, a gold medallist discus thrower at the national games last year and Babar Arafat, who bagged two gold medals at the special Olympic Games at Dublin, Ireland.
