New Delhi, Dec 08: After carrying out its probe in the leakage of CAT exam question papers, the CBI today began investigations into the role of Ranjit Singh alias ‘Ranjit Don’ in the AIIMS question paper leakage case last year. The custody of Singh and other three, arrested by the CBI for allegedly leaking the question paper of Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) last month, was taken over by another unit of the investigating agency to conduct their part of investigations.
The CBI would also be probing the role of some doctors of the AIIMS in this case besides examining the employees of the printing press where the question papers were leaked.
The investigating agency had registered a case last year after the news of question paper leak in AIIMS came to light.
CBI has claimed that the gang was involved in a nation-wide racket of leaking question papers of various competitive exams.
All the four were presented before a special CBI court here today which remanded them to agency's custody till December 11.
CBI has so far claimed that besides leaking of IIM papers, the gang was involved in leaking of question papers of bank probationers and CBSE pre-medical examinations.
