Four get lifer in post-Godhra communal riot case
Vadodara, Oct 16: A fast-track court today sentenced four persons to life imprisonment while acquitting two others in the Lal Akhada murder case during post-Godhra communal violence.
Vadodara, Oct 16: A fast-track court today sentenced four persons to life imprisonment while acquitting two others in the Lal Akhada murder case during post-Godhra communal violence.
Judge C K Solanki acquitted Nisar Abrar Hussain alias Nisarbapu, former deputy mayor and Congress councilor, as also Maruf Hussain Sayed, in the case.
Mohammed alias Lal Mohammed Siddik Dudhwala, Atif alias Bekhabar Shaikh, Akram Ahmed Sheikh and Abid Hussain Nisar Hussain Sayed were sentenced to life imprisonment for murder of one Pankaj Chauhan in Lal Akhada area of the city on March 22 last year.
A total of 23 witnesses were examined in the case of whom 10 turned hostile.
