"Roberto Cavalli is proud to announce that Nicki Minaj is the face of its Spring-Summer 2015 campaign shot by Francesco Carrozzini in Los Angeles! NickiForCavalli," he posted on Instagram.

"I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman. In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes.

"With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves," Cavalli said in a statement about the campaign.

The ads show Minaj, 32, styled in a range of attires from the collection of zebra-print maxis to lacy minis and black caftans. Minaj shared some pictures, which was shot by Carrozzini, on Instagram. "I am so honoured to be the face of the new RobertoCavalliSS15 campaign. NickiForCavalli," she wrote captioned the photo.
