New Delhi, Oct 27: The BJP today said no film stars except those who are members of the party would campaign for it in the upcoming assembly elections as their participation makes the entire process non-serious. "No Khans or any other star will campaign for the party in the assembly elections," party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said referring to reports that Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan would woo voters for BJP.
"Film stars campaigning for the party makes the entire electoral process non-serious," he said. The BJP, however, defended movie stars-cum-politicians Hema Malani, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha campaigning for it saying they were members of the party.
"Hema Malini is an artiste, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha are Union ministers and they will be campaigning as members of BJP," Naqvi said. Bureau Report
