Nov 07: Everton striker Duncan Ferguson is recuperating at home after being admitted to hospital earlier this week with a respiratory problem. Ferguson pulled out of the Everton squad to face Chelsea last weekend, complaining of feeling unwell.

His condition deteriorated over the weekend and he was admitted to hospital on Monday, but he was released the next day after being given the all-clear.

He is expected to return to training at the end of the week.

"He was diagnosed with upper respiratory syndrome after complaining of feeling faint," said Everton physiotherapist Mick Rathbone.

"He was admitted to hospital on Monday in order for some tests to be carried out. He was given the all-clear and was released from hospital the day after."
