Bid to solve Ram temple row within limits of Ayodhya
New Delhi, Aug 08: In a fresh attempt to solve the Ram temple issue, a newly formed trust claiming to represent the mosques in Ayodhya today announced it will soon hold talks with Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and said it had `no objection` if the undisputed land was released for construction of the Ram temple.
New Delhi, Aug 08: In a fresh attempt to solve the
Ram temple issue, a newly formed trust claiming to represent
the mosques in Ayodhya today announced it will soon hold talks
with Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and
said it had "no objection" if the undisputed land was released
for construction of the Ram temple.
Asserting the "vexed issue can be solved only if an
attempt is made by those living within Ayodhya's municipal
limits", Ayodhya Rama Masjid trust organiser Saiyed Asghar
Abbas Rizvi told reporters "the Ajmt is going to negotiate
with Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas directly keeping aside all the
confused and irrelevant committees that have mushroomed over
the years in the name of restoration, protection, movement and
action for the Babri Masjid".
Alleging that "whatever is happening in the name of
Ayodhya is the sinful handiwork of outsiders", Rizvi said the
"trust was extremely grateful for the attitude of local Hindu
saints who have never created any trouble for the Muslim
community living in Ayodhya".
Appealing for "practicable" approach to the whole issue
rather then fuelling communal hatred and passion, he said
Muslims must realise it was "difficult to realistically ensure
the removal of the idol of Ram Lalla from the makeshift
temple". At the same time the Muslims have a right to get a
grand mosque built at Ayodhya, he added.
Stating his trust had no objection if the undisputed land
is released to the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas, Rizvi requested that
Ayodhya title suit pending before the Allahabad High Court be
transferred to the Supreme Court and a bench be constituted to
hear the cases within the time-frame of 180 days.
