Hyderabad, Aug 18: Stating that the defeat of the Opposition-sponsored no-trust motion in the Lok Sabha was a certainty, the TDP, a key ally of NDA, today said the people would "teach a fitting lesson to congress at appropriate time for its politically motivated actions". "People have seen through the Opposition's games. It (Congress) has been stalling proceedings (of the House) on trivial issues and has brought up this issue (CVC report) with political motives," TDP supremo and Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said here.
The TDP had decided to vote against the no-confidence motion to "expose political designs of Congress", Naidu said while addressing a training programme for his party leaders.
"Under the guise of PAC which is headed by a Congressman, the opposition party has been obstructing the proceedings of Parliament every day. It brought forward a no-trust motion unilaterally," he said.
Despite Central Vigilance Commissioner making it clear that he did not probe defence purchases during Kargil conflict the Congress kept harping on the issue for political gains, the TDP chief said adding that people would teach a fitting lesson to the opposition party at the right time.
"We will expose the Congress and oppose the motion. We will cooperate with the government in this regard," he asserted.
Naidu, whose TDP is providing crucial outside support to BJP-led central coalition, dismissed as a "non-issue" the furore over Centre's refusal to part with a CVC report to PAC seeking to examine defence purchases during Kargil conflict. Bureau Report
