New Delhi, Oct 17: A day after India announced pull back of its forces from the international border, army killed seven Pakistanti intruders in J&K who were provided cover fire by Pakistani rangers.
Five militants belonging to Tehrik-i-Jehad outfit were killed when troops intercepted them while crossing the LoC near Mahiri in Poonch sector, an army spokesman said here.
As the intruders found themselves surrounded, Pakistani forces opened up cover fire, he said. "The encounter which began at 0500 hours this morning went on till late in the evening. Five AK 47 rifles, ammunition, explosives and a wireless set were seized from the militants," the spokesman said.
