Iraqi, Kuwaiti teams draw 2-2
Cairo, July 07: Iraqi and Kuwaiti soccer teams played each other yesterday in the first game between sides from the two nations since Saddam Hussein`s Iraqi army invaded its Southern neighbour in 1990.

Iraq's El-Shourtah, or arabic for "the police," and the El-Kuwaiti outfit played out a tough 2-2 draw before several thousand fans at the main sports stadium in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The game -- a group two, opening round of Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Arab Championship Fixture -- marked the first competitive game played between sides from both countries in more than a decade. Brazilian players Anderson and Capral Olivera scored in the 13th and 87th minutes respectively for the Kuwaiti side, while Mazen Abdullah and Ahmed Abbas each netted goals in the 58th and 87th minutes.
In another group two fixture, Egypt's Zamalek, defeated Syrian side El-Gaish, arabic for "the army," 1-0.
