Sales Tax Department seals MAPL in Nagpur
Nagpur, Nov 05: The Sales Tax Department hassealed and attached the factory premises of state public sector undertaking of Maharashtra Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd for recovery of tax dues over Rs one crore.

sealed and attached the factory premises of state public
sector undertaking of Maharashtra Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd for recovery of tax dues over Rs one crore.
"The Sales Tax Department is to recover Rs 1.06 crore
from the factory, so the action was initiated yesterday as per
Section 180 of Maharashtra Land Revenue Act," official sources
said today.
Production at the factory, located in Hingana Industrial Estate here, was totally stopped in January this year. MAPL had started commercial production in 1982 but sustained losses over a period of time.
Employees have not been paid their salaries since the past 15 months, the sources said adding, those who opted for VRS have also not been paid their dues.
MAPL`S bank accounts have also been sealed, the sources added. Bureau Report
