Himachal govt to launch `State Illness Assistance Fund`
Shimla, Oct 22: Himachal Pradesh government has decided to launch `State Illness Assistance Fund` scheme from January 01, 2004 to provide `free referral transport` to the patients referred from one health institution to another for emergency treatment.

January 01, 2004 to provide "free referral transport" to the
patients referred from one health institution to another for
emergency treatment.
The facility would be available to poor patients,
referred to by the doctors of one health institution to other
for emergency treatment and the Himachal Road Transport
Corporation (HRTC) buses would lift such ‘referred patients’
Along with one attendant as and when approached by the
attendant.
The facility would be provided only for such treatment which was not available in the referring health institution and the valid coupon issued by the referring authorities would have to be shown to HRTC officials.
