Maha CM convenes meeting of disaster management team
Mumbai, Aug 26: Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today reviewed the law and order situation and discussed the security measures for the metropolis and the state during a meeting of the disaster management team at Mantralaya here this afternoon.

"Several security measures were discussed at the
meeting," Shinde told reporters after the meeting.
Top officials from Police, Navy, Municipal Corporation, Fire Brigade and health departments attended the meeting to chalk out the disaster management plan and evolve stern security measures in the wake of twin blasts in the city yesterday.
Shinde also informed reporters that he would be meeting Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani this afternoon and would brief him about the situation in the metropolis.
According to Minister of State for Home (Urban) Rajendra Darda, the meeting listed out the various precautionary measures to be taken in view of the blast.
"A discussion on sensitising the taxi unions to ensure that the drivers are more alert and maintained a constant vigil was taken up," he said.
Minister of State for Home (Rural) Kripashankar Singh said efforts are on to zero down on the militant outfit responsible for the blast.
"Several people have been picked up for questioning," Singh said even as he denied reports about people being arrested in connection with the blast.
He also refused to divulge the name of the group behind the blast. Bureau Report
