Peshawar, Sept 05: A bus careened out of control and fell into a ravine in northwest Pakistan, killing 12 people and injuring 11 others, news reports said today. There were few details about yesterday's accident in the rugged tribal region of Dir, 250 kilometers northeast of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, local police official Mohammed Iqbal said. Iqbal said that police were investigating the accident.
Fatal road accidents are common in Pakistan, where many public transport drivers disregard traffic rules and work long hours.
