New Delhi, May 26: Condition of Bahujan Samaj Party leader Kanshi Ram, who underwent heart surgery at a hospital here, has improved and is said to be stable. Ram, who underwent a coronary artery bypass surgery on May 24 at Batra Hospital following blockage of three main arteries, spoke with the doctors and the hospital staff today, Dr T S Mohanta, who is treating him, said.
He is still in Intensive Care Unit but was put off the ventilator this morning as the doctors saw improvement in his condition, the doctor said. The BSP leader has been under treatment at the hospital for the last eight months following heart problems, Mohanta said, adding an angioplasty was done on him in 1996.
Besides heart problems, ram is also suffering from diabetes and hypertension, he added.
