Video conferencing introduced in J&K
Srinagar, Oct 02: In an effort to improve efficiency in governance, Jammu and Kashmir government today introduced video conferencing facility winning the state a prize position after Andhra Pradesh to have such a facility.
Srinagar, Oct 02: In an effort to improve efficiency in governance, Jammu and Kashmir government today introduced video conferencing facility winning the state a prize position after Andhra Pradesh to have such a facility.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed launched the facility by talking from secretariat here to Jammu, Leh and Nuyoma in frontier region of Ladakh.
It will be extended to all district headquarters in phases with far flung districts of Kupwara, Poonch and Doda getting top priority, official sources said.
They said that with this facility easy connectivity has been established with district administration by cutting long travel, time and cost besides bringing efficiency in work culture.
It will also help the senior officers at secretariat to monitor development schemes at district level, listen to public grievances and interact with locals, the sources said.
Bringing high-tech into the day-to-day governance of the state, mufti while speaking to social welfare minister Mula Ram and Minister of State for rural development Gharu Ram, who were at Jammu, enquired about the sanctioning of new anganwari centres by the Union government.
The video conferencing commenced with felicitations of Gandhi Jayanti.
