Jajpur (Orissa), Nov 18: Tension gripped Rahamba panchayat in Jajpur district of Orissa after a local Congress leader was killed last night, police said. Rabindra Biswal, a former sarpanch, was returning home after attending a Party Workers' Conference at Barabati when he was attacked by a gang of miscreants with sharp weapons.
Grievously injured Biswal was rushed to the primary health centre at Madhuban where he was declared dead.
Police said Biswal had been warned by some people earlier in the market at Kuakhia on the NH 5.

The killing sparked tension in the locality with Congress supporters seeking revenge. Armed police had been deployed in the area. No one had been arrested in this connection.
