India and Britain on Friday discussed at length UN peacekeeping-related issues, including follow-up of the Brahimi Panel recommendations on UN peace operations and strengthening cooperation with troop contributing countries. The two sides also exchanged views on strategic planning and command, role of civilian police, civil-military coordination and lessons learned from various operations.
Maj.Gen.Tony Milton, Director General, joint doctrine concept centre of the Ministry of Defence led the seven-member Biritsh delegation to the Indo-UK peacekeeping seminar while the Indian side was led by Maj Gen Gambhir Singh Negi, Additional Director General of Staff Duties from the Army Headquarters and included senior official from the Defence and External Affairs Ministries.
