Srinagar, Aug 14: Police today detained twenty-five activists of Jammu and Kashmir peace council, affiliated to BJP, for taking out a march in violation of prohibitory orders here, official sources said.

BJP, for taking out a march in violation of prohibitory orders
here, official sources said.
Led by Mohammad Ashraf Hajam alias Azad, the activists
carrying playcards assembled at Konikhan and starting marching
towards Lal Chowk, the sources said.
As they reached Maulana Azad Bridge at Dalgate, police
took them into preventive custody.
Earlier Azad said the march was aimed at passing a
message to Pakistan to play a positive role in ending the
miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Unless Pakistan stops supporting militants, the dream of peace cannot be achieved in the state, he said, adding people of Kashmir want peace.
