Shillong, Mar 19: Ending speculations over the BJP's extending support to regional parties' alliance-sponsored candidate for the Shillong parliamentary seat, the BJP has said it would not go with them as they were all part of the Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic alliance government. The regional parties, comprising the United Democratic Party, the Meghalaya Democratic Party, the Hills state People's Democratic Party and the Khun Hynniewtrep national awakening movement, recently chose S Loniak Marbaniang as their consensus candidate for the seat. All the four are part of the ruling MDA headed by the Congress. BJP party president and MLA A L Hek today, while making their stand clear on the issue, also hinted that a final decision on whether they would go alone or not in Shillong would be taken tomorrow.
