Lucknow, July 02: The Archaeological Survey of India's plea for more time to excavate the disputed site at Ayodhya will come up for hearing before the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today. The ASI had applied for a three-month extension on Tuesday claiming that the waterproof cover over the area being excavated was adversely affecting photo documentation. Ayodhya experiences heavy rainfall between July and August/September.
The ASI pleaded that it should be allowed to submit a final report by December. However, the Sunni Waqf Board had filed an objection to the extension demand, and it will also come up for hearing today. Bureau Report
