EAC celebrates 71st IAF anniversary
Shillong, Oct 08: Indian Air Force` Eastern Air Command (EAC) today celebrated the 71st anniversary with the personnel taking a pledge to serve the nation with full dedication and integrity.

dedication and integrity.
At the EAC headquarters here, the pledge was administered to all officers, airmen, non-commissioned employees and civilians by Air Marshal S Y Savur, senior air staff of the
EAC.
Messages of greetings from the President, Vice-President, Chief of Air Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief were read out on the occasion. Similar pledge-taking ceremonies was also held at all the all bases under the EAC.
As part of the celebrations, the EAC also organised a week-long programme including free cinema show, walk for fun, volleyball match, display of static aircraft, flypast of MiG-27, para-jumping and free medical camp for public. The EAC, besides guarding the eastern skies of the country, have also undertaken various relief measures like extending aids to civil authorities in times of floods and other natural calamities. The air bases under the command also provided transportation to the inaccessible terrains of the region. Bureau Report
