Bhopal, Oct 08: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has written to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee that the charge of improper use of central funds in the state made by Union Rural Development Minister Anna Saheb Patil is "baseless”. Expressing confidence that Vajpayee would not accept the allegations made by Patil "to mislead people", Singh in a letter to the Prime Minister, said "the work and quality of the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana in the state is of superior quality."
Patil had recently criticised Madhya Pradesh government for not properly utilising the central funds.
Singh also sent newspaper clippings of allegations made by the Union Minister along with the letter.
"It is improper on the part of Patil to allege that the state government has not used the amount provided by the Centre for various rural development schemes, especially for the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana," Singh pointed out in the letter, copies of which were released to the media today.
