Nagercoil, Nov 18: Export of marine prawns was expected to fetch foreign exchange earnings worth Rs 70 crore annually, Central Fisheries Department Chief Scientist Dr E V Radhakrishnan said on Tuesday. Prawns were available in large quantities in Gujarat , Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu in the country and were exported to China , Hongkong , Taiwan and Singapore , he said.
The availability of prawns in Kanyakumari District was on the decrease and steps had been taken to boost it, he added. Bureau Report
