Lucknow, May 29: Veteran film actress Shabana Azmi today stressed the need to fully eradicate polio from Uttar Pradesh and appealed to the people involved in the immunisation exercise to meet the challenge head on. Addressing a group of over 1000 polio vaccinators at a meeting ahead of the June 1 immunisation day, Azmi said that the goal of eradicating polio from the state "is now within reach."
"We need just that extra push to make it happen and I am sure that each and every one of you (vaccinators) will meet this challenge head on," she said.
The meeting was organised by Unicef on behalf of the polio eradication initiative partnership. Bureau Report
