Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 16: Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony today told the assembly that State Public Service Commission has sent 40,000 service advice memo so far. Appointments would be made as and when vacancies arose, Antony said while replying to a calling attention moved by P S Supal (CPI) on the serious problems faced by unemployed youth consequent on the non-receipt of appointment orders to those candidates advised by PSC.

There was no recruitment ban in departments where there was no surplus staff. Re-deployment of surplus staff was continuing, he said. The committee appointed for identifying surplus staff have reported 17,168 surplus staff in various government departments.
