The Danish Defence Ministry said on Friday it would send troops and aircraft jets to back the US-led campaign in Afghanistan within the coming month.
One Hercules transport plane, four F-16 fighter jets and around 100 elite troops and a limited number of liaison officers are included in the Danish support package. "The aircraft are expected to be stationed outside Afghanistan, probably in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, while the elite troops will work from bases inside Afghanistan," the ministry said in a statement.
The composition of the Danish contribution is based on a request from Washington, it said. Bureau Report
