Hyderabad, Mar 24: Congress, CPM, Majlis and CPI (ML) members walked out of the Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly today protesting government's ‘refusal’ to pay ex-gratia to family members of the farmers, who had committed suicide. The assembly witnessed acrimonius scenes with ruling TDP accusing Congress of resorting to vandalism and unruly behaviour after being suspended on Saturday, while the opposition charged the state government with disrupting their peaceful dharna only to divert the topic of ex-gratia to farmers. Pushing aside the day's agenda, the house witnessed uproarious scenes with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and opposition leader Dr Y S Rajsekhar Reddy trading charges.
Treasury bench members said congress members had created a havoc in the assembly premises by breaking window panes, flower pots and other property after being suspended and tried to barge into the chief minister's chamber.
B Congress contended that they were sitting on a dharna and the security staff ‘misbehaved’ by restricting entry which led to a scuffle.

After chief minister said the farmer's issue could be discussed during demands on agriculture, Speaker Prathibha Bharathi refused to allow anyone to speak on the subject. Bureau Report
