Conjoined twins get new hope
New Delhi, Aug 15: Neelu and Pinku, the conjoined twins who had been under the care of AIIMS for about a month, have finally got a new ray of hope with a charitable institution adopting them.

"They were officially handed over to a team from Pingalwara Charitable Trust from Amritsar yesterday," Dr D K Gupta from AIIMS paediatrics surgery department told.
The twin's parents, a poor couple from Delhi, were also present on the occasion, Gupta said adding the two month-old Neelu and Pinku are in excellent health.
Besides the charitable trust, four other organisations and a few childless couples were also interested in adopting the twins.
The trust would keep in contact with AIIMS for twin's welfare and health, he said.

The twins, abandoned by their parents, are joined at chest and abdomen. They have two heads, two necks, four hands, one chest, one abdomen and two legs.
