aside an application filed by Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Chand
Khan's advocate alleging that police investigating the
Akshardham terrorist attack case had physically tortured the
accused during interrogation.
Perusing medical reports provided by a panel of doctors from civil hospital, Pota court judge Sonia Gokani said no injuries or burn marks have been found after detailed examination of the accused person.
Gokani also warned the advocate from filing such applications and levelling such charges against the investigating agencies, without adequate groundwork. Taking cognizance of an application filed by advocate Hashim Qureshi, the court had yesterday instructed the crime branch to conduct a detailed medical examination of khan by a panel of civil hospital doctors. Khan, who is in DCB custody for 18 days, brought to city on a transit warrant from Jammu and Kashmir for interrogation was allegedly tortured by police who gave him electric shocks and other forms of physical torture, advocate Hashim Qureshi told a news agency.
