Mumbai, Aug 07: India and Thailand have signed seven MoUs during the last two days and are expected to ink six more by Saturday to further boost relations and double bilateral trade to US dollars two billion.
Some of the MoUs signed were from automotive, jewellery, food, electronics and electrical sectors while those relating to exchange of films, tourism and aviation, are expected to be signed in the next couple of days, Thailand's deputy prime minister Korn Dabbaransi said while addressing confederation of Indian industries meet here today.

Inviting Indian industries to explore trade potential in Thailand, Dabbaransi said his country, which was affected in 1997 during the Asian currency melt down, has now become buoyant economy with a 5.2 per cent GDP.
He also invited Indian participation in sectors like energy, tourism, sports and looked for investments in information technology, infrastructure, including roads and railways and gem and jewellery from India.
Dabbaransi expressed happiness about his visit to India and hoped the free trade agreement between India and Thailand, to be signed in October, would further boost trade relations.



He said Thailand had earlier signed an agreement with China and was planning to sign similar ones with Asean countries, which would greatly benefit India as his country could act as gateway to these countries



Leading a business delegation, Dabbaransi, following his visit to Delhi and Mumbai, leaves for Bangalore tomorrow and later to Chennai before returning home.
