Home Minister L K Advani on Tuesday said the Centre was considering deployment of armed security guards in Parliament house and would soon discuss the matter with Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balyogi. Addressing an election meeting in Baharaich, he said if the terrorists had succeeded in their plans on December 13, about 800 leaders of different parties would have been killed.
The Home Minister said India would not tolerate the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and infiltration any more. "We are determined to take on our western neighbour," he added. The Ministry of External Affairs has again asked Pakistan to hand over the 20 terrorists demanded by India, he said.

India lost a great opportunity to resolve the Kashmir issue after 1971 war with Pakistan when about 93,000 soldiers of Pakistan army had surrendered, Advani said. He urged the political parties not to create differences over national issues and strive for a consensus on such matters.
Stating that communal riots had taken place since the Vajpayee government assumed power at the Centre, Advani said "Muslims had always been used as a vote bank by different parties as a result of which they still lag behind others in many fields." Bureau Report
