Jammu, Oct 22: Seven members of a marriage party were killed and five injured in an armed clash over a family feud in Doda district late last night, police sources said today. A group of six people, headed by surrendered militant Mushtaq Ahmed and including two special police officials (SPOs) and a constable, barged into the house of Niaz Mehmood Naik at Pul Doda where a marriage party was on at around 2200 hrs last night and opened indiscriminate fire from their AK type rifles after an altercation with Naik's family, the sources said.
In the firing, four persons - Tariq Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed and Sajjad Ahmed - died on the spot while two others - Mohammad Amin and Ijaj Ahmed - succumbed to injuries in the District Hospital, he said adding another person Altaf Ahmed breathed his last while on way to Jammu.
Five other injured have been hospitalised in Doda District Hospital.
Police, acting swiftly, today arrested four of the accused, including the two SPOs, while hunt is on for the other two, including the prime accused Mushtaq Ahmed.
