Mumbai, Jan 21: A sessions court today reserved
order on the bail plea of three suspended cops who have been
arrested on the charge of aiding and abetting the crime
committed by the organised syndicate of prime accused in fake
stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi.
The order was reserved by Additional Sessions Judge M L
Tahilyani after arguments concluded on bail petitions filed by
Sampat Jadhav, assistant lice inspector, Kulwant Singh
Parmar, police inspector and Ramchandra Yenam, Assistant
Police Commissioner.
Yenam was arrested on December three, Parmar on
December five and Jadhav on December 24. They are also facing
the charge of helping Telgi's syndicate in circulating fake
stamp papers and stamps since 1995. Jadhav and Parmar are
charged with letting off Telgi even though his anticipatory
bail had been rejected.
Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat opposed their bail saying they
were prima facie involved in the crime and their release would
hamper investigations.
