Mugello, July 30: Michael Schumacher looks forward to Sunday's German Grand Prix. World champion Michael Schumacher is hoping to repeat last year's German Grand Prix win at Hockenheim on Sunday (August 3). The 2002 race was the first Grand Prix following the refurbishment of the Hockenheim circuit, a move which has brought approval from Schumacher who prefers to race on the new race track. The German had already clinched the title before the Hockenheim race in 2002 but things are much closer this time around with Schumacher leading Finn Kimi Raikkonen by just seven points in the championship standings. Despite the new rule changes brought in this season to make Formula One competitive, Schumacher thinks the real reason Ferrari are not so dominant this year is that the other teams have caught up. He also believes that it was no longer true that different tyre brands favour certain circuits as they did in the past.
