Shimla, June 29: The Congress is targetting to enroll 5-crore members during its ongoing membership drive, AICC treasurer Moti Lal Vora today said.

Vora who was here in connection with preparations for three day 'Chintan-Manthan' (brain storming) camp being held here from July 7 to July 9 said that the organisational elections would be held next year after completion of membership drive.
He said during the last organisational elections 3.5 crore members were registered including from Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and some other states. The MLAs and chairpersons of boards and corporation would pay one month's salary as membership fee while the members of Parliament would pay one month's salary and register six friends of the party as associate members who would be required to pay Rs 10,000.
Referring to possibility of tie-ups in the Lok Sabha polls, Vora said that the party had an open mind regarding alliances and adjustments with like-minded parties. Bureau Report
