New Delhi, Jan 21: With Republic Day just five days away, security at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has been beefed up and entry of visitors banned in view of reports that terrorists plan to target it in the coming days.

Alarmed by intelligence inputs, security arrangements at the airport were reviewed at a high-level meeting of agencies concerned two days back, security sources told reporters here today.
"The inputs, received a few days back, speak about plans of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) to carry out a suicide attack at the airport around the time the country celebrates the republic day," a source said.
The 'fidayeen' may use any mode of transport, including taxi or auto-rickshaw, to reach the airport for carrying out that attack, the source said citing intelligence inputs.
In view of the inputs, entry of visitors inside the airport has been banned and will remain in force till the Republic Day celebrations get over.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), manning the airport security, and Delhi Police have been asked to work in a coordinated manner to thwart terrorists' plans.
CISF has increased substantially the number of men deployed and deputed additional commandoes to meet any eventuality.
