Faced with the difficulties being experienced by the commuters especially the school children, the Delhi government decided to put on hold further phase out plan of all other categories of buses.
According to an official communique, the government said only 727 buses had been put off the road in the first phase.
However, transport unions have claimed that in the first phase as many as 3700 buses were off the road. The government notification made it clear that the special permits of all the buses, more than seven years old, stand cancelled. Bureau Report
