colourful and multi-cultured life of the Mumbai metropolis - from
the worship of lord ganesha to the 'dabbawalas' of mumbai, from
bollywood
to flower market, laughter club - will unfold in a new documentary,
being produced by Deutsche Welle, Germany's worldwide broadcaster,
jointly with Doordarshan.
Different images of Mumbai, different disciplines, day-to-day
scenes of the city, and its diversity are part of the theme of the
documentary, Dr Stefan Kaempf, the co-producer on behalf of Deutsche
Welle, and Mukesh Sharma, director of Doordarshan Kendra, Mumbai
said at a press conference here.
The documentary has been structured to depict that Mumbai is a 'hot spot' of various cultures, languages, ethnic groups perfectly melting into one, said Kaempf, who has come here from Berlin.
Both Kaempf and Sharma said this joint venture is first of its kind.
Kaempf said the documentary would be distributed internationally in about 105 countries both by Doordarshan and Deutsche Welle and would be dubbed into five languages - French, Spanish, Russian, arabic and Marathi besides English.
Deutsche Welle has earlier produced similar documentaries on Manila and Kuala Lumpur.
