Intelligence agencies, trying to locate terrorist links in this border district, have found that the network created by Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan is using Internet for passing information.
Two associates of Aftab Ansari, main accused of attack on American centre in Kolkata last month, who had come to Jaisalmer allegedly for taking delivery of explosives smuggled from across the border slipped out of the desert town quickly after receiving an e-mail, official sources said in Jaislamer on Monday.
“The two associates had purchased a second hand jeep, in Jaisalmer, for transporting the explosives but left the city in a huff after Ansari e-mailed them informing them killing of Asif Raza in an encounter with police in Rajkot in Gujarat and ordering them to return immediately without performing their given task,” source said.
Meanwhile, the intelligence agencies are trying to identify the person who was to deliver explosives to the associates of Ansari in December last year. Efforts are also being made to find out about the agencies involved in brokering the deal of explosives through hawala channel, sources said.
