Gandhinagar, Mar 28: Gujarat assembly today referred a breach of special privilege motion against three Congress MLAs, including leader of opposition Amarsinh Chaudhary, for 'misleading' the house by giving 'incorrect' information on the floor, to its privilege committee. Moving the motion, parliamentary affairs minister Ashok Bhatt claimed "Chaudhary and two of his party members tried to mislead the house by quoting information which was absolutely false and far from facts".
The minister said Chaudhary had informed the house during question hour that "a labourer in a village in Sabarkantha district was receiving only re one as daily wage in drought relief works, which is totally false".

Chaudhary, later talking to reporters, however hit back at the ruling BJP, saying "the congress would also obtain complete record of all the assurances given by ministers from the assurance committee and expose the government".

"If this is the kind of treatment meted out to the opposition, how can we participate in the proceedings", he asked. Bureau Report
