Itanagar, July 11: The flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit district improved today but remained critical in east Siang and Debang valley, official reports said.
The road communication between Lohit district headquarter town of Tezu and Tinsukia has been restored with the water level of river Lohit decreasing. However, Sunpura was still under the threat of flood water. River Siang and its tributaries in east Siang district were flowing above the danger level and causing errosion along both banks. Pasighat, headquarter of the district, was safe due to protection work carried out by the irrigation and flood control department last year. Road communication between Pasighat and other administrative centres remained disrupted due to collapse of bridges and landslides, the reports said.
In lower Debang valley the situation was critical and road communication between Roing, Hunli, Desali, Kornu and Ahim remained cut off. Major damages were caused to the suspension bridge over river Deopani, the reports said.

Bank erosion in river Noa Dihing under Changlang district has been reported while it was flowing at danger level.
