Itanagar, July 09: All the rivers in the eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh are in spate following incessant rains during last few days and have inundated more areas, official sources said here today. The flood situation in east Siang and Lohit districts worsened yesterday as flood waters inundated more areas in these two districts.

The water level of Siang river and its tributaries were flowing above the danger level, the report said, adding the road communication between Pasight, headquarter of east Siang district and Pangin Boleng circle headquarters remained disrupted due to landslide and waterlogging and flooding. Road communication between Teju, headquarter of Lohit district and Hayuliang-Walong remained cut off due to landslides since last week.

Meanwhile, the state's irrigation and Flood Control Department has set up flood monitoring cells in the districts and a Central Flood Monitoring Centre in the office of the chief engineer, irrigation and flood control department to keep a close watch on the situation.
