A dozen tables had been placed at venue for counting for which twelve round would be conducted. The polling was held through the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMS) on Thursday in which over 47 per cent of over one lakh electorates had exercised their franchise. The by-poll was necessitated following the death of Rajasthan minister Kishan Motwani recently. A total of seven candidates including ruling Congress's Nanakram Jagatrai Sindhi and main opposition Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)'s Laxamandas Machiswala were in the fray. Both the septuagerian main contenders were Sindhis. Rest five were independents including a Congress rebel Satish Bansal.
